Empty Bowls Glaze for Good

Sundays, January 31, 2016
12:00 - 4:00 pm

Empty Bowls Glaze for Good is an open community bowl glazing session to help support the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

Union Project invites you to join us for a bowl-decorating party to support the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank’s 21th Annual Empty Bowls Dinner. This is a hands-on event and will be held in our ceramics studio at 801 N. Negley Avenue. On Sunday, January 31st from 12 pm to 4 pm, we will glaze and decorate bowls that have already been made and fired by local potters. Community members of all skill and experience levels are welcome to come out and help decorate a bowl for a great cause! We’ll have bowls, glaze materials, plenty of work space available, and some of our ceramics co-op members on hand to help out. All the bowls created will be donated to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank for their Empty Bowls fundraiser on March 20, 2016.

Empty Bowls is a national grassroots effort to fight hunger. At an Empty Bowls fundraiser, guests receive a handcrafted bowl and a simple meal of soup and bread. Guests keep their bowl as a reminder of those struggling to feed their families. Union Project is proud to support the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank by creating and donating ceramic bowls!
