Union Project Gets a Face-lift

Months of Cleaning Reveal Historic Sandstone

After months of work, our corner stands as an ever brightening beacon to the community as a safe and welcoming space to connect, create, and celebrate! Union Project now sparkles in the sunlight, after 100+ years of dirt have been stripped away to reveal the historic building’s sandstone facade. Led by John Zolko, workers from Preferred Contracting group braved even the coldest winter months, scaling our building to clean and re-point the building’s stone. Using a cutting edge fastening system that can be installed piece by piece and replaced as needed, Preferred Contracting have also finished the final phase of restoration on our  original slate roof. Thanks an anonymous foundation and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, Union Project can continue to beautify and protect this landmark that community hands brought back to life.
