Drat, this class is full! Try Saturday Beginner/Intermediate Ceramics instead.

Not all potters use the wheel!

This class will explore a range of hand-building techniques for making functional pottery without the use of a throwing wheel. Dig more deeply into pinch, slab, and coil construction to learn how to create and refine a range of elegant forms, from cups and bowls to boxes and flasks. Your instructor, Carina Kooiman, will also explore a range of creative surface applications such as sgraffito, mishima, stencils, resist, and underglaze transfers to finish your pottery and create beautiful illustrated surfaces.

This class is suitable for adults of all experience levels. We recommend bringing a sketchpad to take notes and plan designs.

Class make-up policy: Class participants are able to make up one missed class during an Open Studio session. The missed class must be made up before the last class of the session.

If you have questions, please contact Milo Berezin (412-363-4550 x242).
