Remake Learning Days: Community Blooms

One-Time Workshop, Union Project Event

Event Dates and Times:

May 16 (1:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

Event Cost:

During Community Blooms, Union Project seeks to bring community members together this spring by creating and sharing art — even when we have to stay apart. Our virtual ceramics instructor will teach participants to welcome springtime by hand-building ceramic flowers and critters during this event.

Each participant will pick up a clay kit before the event. Each kit will include enough clay and tools for a family of four. Participants may bring as many finished flowers and critters back for firing as they wish. Participants will also be encouraged to write a brief message of hope or gratitude. When they drop off their work for firing, participants can take home another flower or critter of their choosing, with a hopeful message from someone else in the community.

Union Project hopes to connect the community from a distance by facilitating this spread of flowers, critters, and messages of hope that will decorate homes and gardens and bloom all summer long.

For questions about this event, please email Amélie Peyroux at amelie@unionproject.org.

Union Project is committed to being accessible to all. The building is wheelchair accessible via the side door on Stanton Avenue, and an accessible parking spot is located just outside that door. Service animals are always welcome, and we can provide ASL interpretation on request. Please let us know what accommodations we can make to ensure your experience is positive. Contact Michelle Clesse at 412-363-4550 or michelle@unionproject.org if you have specific accommodations or needs.
