Not all potters use the wheel!
This class will explore a range of hand-building techniques for making functional pottery without the use of a throwing wheel. Dig more deeply into pinch, slab, and coil construction to learn how to create and refine a range of elegant forms, from cups and bowls to boxes and flasks. Your instructor, Carina Kooiman, will also introduce creative surface applications such as texture, sgraffito, stencils, and underglaze transfers to finish your pottery.
Union Project is committed to being accessible to all. The building is wheelchair accessible via the side door on Stanton Avenue, and an accessible parking spot is located just outside that door. Service animals are always welcome, and ASL interpretation can be provided on request. Please let us know what accommodations we can make to ensure your experience is positive, contact Michelle Clesse at 412-363-4550 or email@example.com if you have specific accommodations or needs.
