Open Studio

Open Studio is BACK! But it’s a bit different than what you are used to. Open Studio is no longer a drop-in experience. Attendees must register for their spot in advance. Open Studio will only be sold in 3-hour sessions, not hourly.

For the time being, we will not be selling bulk blocks of Open Studio time. Already have a block that you purchased in the before times? Email sam@porterloves.com.

Open Studio registration sales are final.

Visit the Calendar to book your Open Studio session.

Continue your exploration in clay!

During Open Studio, you’ll have access to our shared studio, equipment, and materials. Open Studio is recommended for those who are familiar with the ceramic process, don’t need hands-on instruction, and feel confident working independently. An Open Studio monitor will be present to assist with orientation to the studio.

Clay, glaze, and firing is all included in the Open Studio fee.

Open Studio participants must be 18+ or accompanied by an adult.

At each session, you may use up to 12 pounds of clay (Standard’s 306 brown stoneware).

Work left in the studio in any stage (green, bisque, or glaze fired) for more than two weeks will be discarded.

Glazed pieces will be fired cone 6 electric.

All work must be collected or glazed within two weeks of creation.

No outside clay or glaze is permitted during Open Studio.

Please be respectful of our shared space–move your creations through the process.
